A man is in a serious condition in hospital after an assault in Birkenhead, on Auckland's North Shore.
The incident happened at about 5pm on Friday on Roseberry Road. The man, 48, is in Auckland hospital, in a serious condition.
His housemate, 55, was due to appear in the North Shore District Court on Saturday charged with assault.
Police say further charges are likely.
