Staff at a pizza shop in Hamilton East were threatened by three men in an attempted robbery about 10pm on Wednesday night.
Police say there was another incident, an hour beforehand, involving three men at a cafe in Victoria Street.
They say the descriptions of the men in both cases is similar. No money was taken in either robbery.
