Some 140 households in Te Puke were without power after a car collided with a power pole.
The vehicle struck the pole near the intersection of State Highways Two and 33 at about 3.30am on Sunday.
Powerco restored power to the area afterwards, but it was cut again at 8am so the pole could be replaced.
The lines company says supply was expected to be restored by 1pm.
