A Dunedin woman has been treated in hospital after part of her lower lip was bitten off in a fight.
Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken says the 19-year-old was walking along Highgate in the suburb of Roslyn with a female acquaintance when the pair got into an argument.
Mr Aitken says that escalated into a physical fight, in which the 19-year-old had a chunk of her lower lip bitten off.
He says the victim has received medical care and has been discharged from Dunedin Hospital.
A 20-year-old woman from Christchurch has been charged with assault.
