Police roadblocks have been set up on State Highway 2 at the Athenree Gorge in Western Bay of Plenty.
Earlier, a teenage boy was struck by a vehicle on Katikati Road North.
Police say the road will remain closed between Athenree - Beach Road while they work out what happened.
