Palmerston North police are looking for a man who may be seriously hurt after smashing through a glass window at the bar he was robbing.
They say he attempted to rob the city's Albert Sports Bar on Albert St at about 3.30pm on Saturday.
The police say they are concerned for his welfare due to the amount of blood he left trailing behind him as he ran from the scene.
Residents around Main and Ruahine Streets are being asked to check their properties for the robber, but are being warned not to approach him.
He's described as Caucasian with shaggy brown hair. He was wearing a blue pair of jeans but no shirt or shoes.
