A small monkey that escaped from Wellington Zoo has been recaptured.
Machu, a South American Pygmy Marmoset monkey got out of his enclosure just after 2pm on Sunday.
A spokesperson at the zoo Stephanie Gray says Machu was seen near the zoo cafe at the front of the premises.
She says Machu has been reunited with his female companion, Picchu.
She says both monkeys are now in the quarantine enclosure until zoo staff are able to find the gap which allowed him to escape.
