Blenheim police are treating the death of a man after an incident outside a nightclub incident as suspicious.
They say Matthew Patrick Heagney, 24, hit his head on the footpath outside Shapeshifters in Kinross Street about 2.40am on Sunday.
He was taken to Wairau Hospital and later died.
Police are interviewing witnesses to the incident and are not commenting on whether there had been an altercation. They say they are still piecing together the events.
