A group opposed to a $200 million stadium being built in Dunedin has a new president and a new focus.
Stop the Stadium's inaugural president Bev Butler resigned from the position at a meeting on Sunday night.
New president Dave Witherow says the group has clearly failed to stop the stadium. However, he says it will now focus on ensuring pro-stadium local politicians are not re-elected next year.
Mr Witherow says the stadium is an expensive white elephant that will financially cripple Dunedin ratepayers for decades to come.
