A suspicious fire has destroyed a kohanga reo in Auckland.
Police say it broke started in a bin on the deck of the Waikaremoana Te Reo school in Pakuranga at about 7pm on Wednesday and then spread to the classrooms.
Parents have been asked to keep children at home on Thursday.
Volunteer Missy Blackmore says the pre-school has been open for 17 years. All the history, records, resources and photos of pupils have been lost.
The neighboring Riverhills Primary School has offered a building as a temporary site.
Ms Blackmore says she hopes to start teaching again there tomorrow.
