More Undie 500 offenders to be sought from videos

5:09 am on 20 September 2009

Police in Dunedin will spend the next week reviewing video footage and photographs of the Undie 500 riots last weekend, to try to identify other offenders.

Sixty one people have already been in relation to the event, for offences including disorderly behaviour, assaulting police with bottles and obstruction.

Inspector Dave Campbell says the officers reviewing the footage will try to identify people throwing missiles and lighting fires.

He says the continued enquiries should not come as any surprise, as there were clear warnings prior to the event that law breakers would face the consequences.
