Manukau City mayor Len Brown says a newly-released report on how the Auckland super-city will be structured, and what will happen to staff, has too many gaps.
The Auckland Transition Agency says most frontline council staff will keep their jobs, but some, in areas like policy and human resources, are likely to face cuts.
Mr Brown says though he's pleased by the reassurance for most staff, questions remain.
He wants more information to be released, in particular about the council-owned companies that will control transport and water.
Mr Brown says he hopes the elected super-city council will be given room to have plenty of input on how they'll work, rather than that being entirely predetermined.
