Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman jogger was fatally injured by a bus in the Wellington suburb of Brooklyn on Friday.
Ling Phang, who lived locally, was struck near the intersection of Brooklyn Road and Washington Avenue at about 8.30am.
She was taken to Wellington Hospital in critical condition, but died shortly after.
Traffic Safety Sergeant Simon Paterson says she was running down the hill as the bus pulled into a bus stop, but there is no evidence to suggest the bus mounted the footpath.
Sergeant Paterson says Victim Support has assisted the bus driver, passengers and the victim's family.
He says the police want to hear from passengers who left before police arrived.
