Police say there are no suspicious circumstances in the death of a man found near Port Chalmers on Sunday morning.
A partially submerged dinghy was noticed in Deborah Bay and a search located a man's body in the water.
Police say it is likely he tried to row to a yacht moored in the bay sometime after midnight on Saturday.
His death has been referred to the coroner.
