Two babies have died in Waikato in unrelated events.
A seven-week-old boy was found dead at a Te Aroha address early on Tuesday morning, while a seven-month-old girl was found dead at a Morrinsville home.
Police say child sudden death procedures have been implemented, including paediatric examinations.
These are being carried out in Auckland and Wellington.
Both cases have been reported to the Coroner.
