The police were forced to abandon their pursuit of a stolen motorcycle in Palmerston North on Monday after it reached dangerously high speeds.
They say that the chase started at about 1.30pm when the motorbike was spotted near Whakarongo, and that the Lifan Delta, which was carrying a passenger as well as the rider, reached speeds of more than 100 km/h in an area with a limit of 50.
They want anyone who knows where bike, rider or passenger are to contact them. The registration number is 28WWL.
