An elderly tramper who became lost in northern Hawke's Bay was found safe and well on Monday morning.
The 78-year-old was on a day tramp in an area of bush off Pohokura Road in Tutira when he fell behind his group on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the man was found near the Lake Tutira area, north of Napier, on Monday morning.
The man had become disorientated and lost his way during the hike and was apparently unscathed from his overnight stay in the bush, police said.
