Jetski restrictions threatened

11:33 am on 6 December 2009

Hawke's Bay jetskiers have been warned that they could face restrictions if an increase in reckless behaviour continues.

The Hawke's Bay Regional Council says a recent collision between a wakeboarder and jetskier on the Clive River demonstrates the need for greater care.

Acting harbourmaster John Paston is concerned by the irresponsible behaviour of some jetski riders and says it has to stop.

He says riders could be restricted to travelling at only five knots on the Clive River.
