A Wairarapa concert scheduled for Saturday night was cancelled because of severe weather conditions.
A Day on the Green at the Alana Estate in Martinborough was to have featured the B52s, the Proclaimers and the Pink Flamingoes.
Ian Smart, the general manager of Alana Estate, says the cancellation has cost the winery several thousand dollars in lost business, mainly in catering.
He says the organisors had thought the wind would drop in time for the 7pm concert, but made the decision to cancel at 6pm, for safety reasons.
They say the 5000 or so people who purchased tickets will be fully refunded. People who bought tickets online or over the phone with Ticketmaster will get an automatic refund in their credit-card account.
