An elderly woman who went missing from a rest home in Ashburton has been found safe and well.
Police in Canterbury had been concerned for her safety when she disappeared about 11am on Saturday.
The woman had been known to walk considerable distances and there were fears she had become disoriented and confused.
Police say that public information and media helped to locate her.
