Police say the death of a man in south Auckland is to be referred to the coroner.
Daya Nand, 68, was found dead at a house in Papatoetoe on Monday morning.
A woman, 42, had serious stab wounds, but has had surgery and police say she is progressing well.
Mr Nand and the stabbing victim were related.
Police say no charges will be laid over the incident.
