A toddler is dead and her mother is in a critical condition in hospital after they were hit by a car in their South Auckland driveway.
The police say the incident happened in Mangere at about 5pm on Monday.
Both the mother and her two-year-old daughter sustained critical injuries. They were taken to Middlemore Hospital, where the child died.
The police are investigating the incident.
