Upper Hutt woman's death not suspicious

4:01 pm on 7 January 2010

The preliminary result of a post-mortem into the death of an Upper Hutt woman earlier this week indicates that she probably drowned and that her death is not suspicious.

Cushla Rachael Braddock, 28, went missing on Sunday afternoon and her body was discovered by a group of young people near the Pomare overbridge on Tuesday evening.

The police are appealing for more information on why she may have drowned.

Senior Sergeant Jason McCarthy says the investigation is focusing on reconstructing the movements of Ms Braddock, who often visited the Upper and Lower Hutt shopping areas and walked along the Hutt River bank.
