Norovirus suspected at Nelson holiday camp

Health officials do not expect further illnesses at a Nelson holiday camp affected by suspected norovirus.

More than 120 campers suffered diarrhoea and vomiting as the virus swept through the Golden Bay Holiday Park last week.

Camp owner Bob Perriam says health authorities are trying to trace the cause of the illness after faecal contamination was found in a stream and in the camp's water supply.

Mr Perriam says strict hygiene measures are in force at the camp, which is not expected to re-open until Wednesday.
