Two people died after a ute and a bus collided on State Highway 33 south of Paengaroa in the Bay of Plenty.
Police say the ute was travelling on State Highway 33 on Sunday morning when its driver lost control and collided with the bus which was travelling in the opposite direction.
Police say the driver was the only person on board the bus and they are investigating the crash.
State Highway 33 was closed for several hours after the accident but has now reopened.
