The Kahurangi Maori Dance Theatre in Hawke's Bay has been asked to take part in a festival of sacred arts in India next month.
Director Tama Huata says the kapa haka, which is an offshoot of his Maori performing arts academy, has two troupes on the road most of the year.
Waatea News reports one is based in North America and the other touring New Zealand schools.
Huata said the company has developed a range of items over the past 20 years, which will be suitable for performing in Delhi.
