Police in Hamilton are investigating sexual assaults on women who had been picked up in the central business district by a couple.
The incidents happened in the early hours of the morning on 13 December and 24 January.
Police say in both cases the women were walking by themselves and accepted offers of a ride home and were driven in a van to a rural area.
Both women had consumed alcohol with a man and a woman in the vehicle before being sexually assaulted by the couple, police say.
They say it appears the couple in the vehicle may be targeting intoxicated women.
