Misbehaving fans could be banned from Carisbrook

Rugby fans planning to attend games at Carisbrook this season are being warned to behave or risk being banned from the ground for up to two years.

The Otago Rugby Football Union is adopting a zero-tolerance approach after crowd members threw plastic bottles at a French team in Dunedin last year.

Operations manager Coryn Huddy says the bottle throwing was dangerous and reflected poorly on the union and the South Island city.

Mr Huddy says anyone involved in unlawful behaviour during this season's Super 14 matches and the All Black test against Wales in June could face a trespass order.

It has not been decided if any bans would apply at the city's new stadium, which is under construction.
