Traffic delays are expected north of Taupo during the coming weeks, as part of a major realignment at the Wairakei intersection of State Highways 1 and 5.
The construction of the new Wairakei roundabout is part of the East Taupo Arterial Project, which is due to be completed by the middle of next month.
Project manager Ron Boyle says some construction work will be carried out at night but motorists should still expect some delays.
