Two storage sheds owned by the Whanganui company Kiwi Honey have been destroyed by fire.
The Fire Service was called to Longacre Road at midday on Saturday and found one shed ablaze. It had difficulty controlling the fire and an adjoining shed was also lost to the flames.
Meanwhile, the Fire Service says it has brought a scrub fire at Kaimaumau in Northland under control.
It says the fire, which started on three days ago, flared up again on Saturday afternoon due to high winds. However, a helicopter has helped dampen down the blaze, which has burned through four hectares.
