A man is in a critical condition after being assaulted outside a courthouse in West Auckland.
Police say the man, 21, who was earlier in court, received a single punch to the head outside the Waitakere District Court at 3pm on Tuesday.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with assault and is due in court on Wednesday.
Police are not ruling out further charges depending on the victim's recovery.
