Delays expected in Hawke's Bay radiology services

12:38 pm on 24 February 2010

Hawke's Bay District Health Board says industrial action over the next fortnight will significantly reduce radiology services at the region's hospital in Hastings.

The board's chief operating officer, Warwick Frater, says members of the Association of Professionals and Executive Employees have advised they will be taking industrial action from Friday.

He says that means people turning up at the Emergency Department for treatment, or those who need radiological assessment, will face major delays.

Mr Frater says the DHB is re-scheduling some clinics and trying to arrange for community providers to help out.
