A dispute between two neighbouring households in Kaikohe on Friday night sparked a callout by the Armed Offender Squad.
Police were called at about 10.30pm and say the occupants of one house smashed windows at the other house, using golf clubs.
It's reported a gun was also used to shoot out a window.
Police in Whangarei say one person was arrested and charged with wilful damage.
