9:07 pm on 27 February 2010

Some progress is reported on rebuilding an historic chapel at Hukarere Maori Girls school in Napier.

Waatea News reports carvings by Hone Taiapa and tukutuku panels designed by Lady Arihia Ngata were removed from the chapel when the building became unusable six years ago.

Ikaroa Rawhiti MP Parekura Horomia says a hui at the school on Sunday will discuss ways of restoring what is a national treasure.
