Train services on the Kapiti Coast, near Wellington, are operating again on Tuesday evening after a fire broke out near the railway line.
A spokesperson for the Fire Service says crews have extinguished a fire inside a tunnel between Pukerua Bay and Paekakariki.
KiwiRail says there has been no delays due to the fire.
Tranz Metro says it replaced earlier train services between Plimmerton and Paekakariki with buses.
