A fire has damaged a three-storey building in the Gisborne's main street that was being rebuilt after it was gutted in a major blaze last year.
The fire started on the first floor of the Adair building shortly after 2am on Thursday.
The Fire Service says part of a new floor in the building was smouldering when they got there.
Crews were able to get inside and put it out before the fire could take hold. Damage to the building was minor.
The Fire Service says the fire is not suspicious.
