The police have launched an investigation after a two-year-old on Auckland's North Shore was seriously injured.
Officers have cordoned off a house in the suburb of Beach Haven, where a scene examination was in progress on Thursday.
Police say the little girl was admitted to Starship Hospital at about 10pm on Wednesday, with serious injuries, and has undergone surgery.
