Police silent on post-mortem results

3:28 pm on 26 March 2010

Police are refusing to release the findings of a post-mortem on a body thought to be that of missing Lower Hutt man Harold Skudder.

Remains believed to be those of Mr Skudder were found down a steep bank off Moonshine Hill Road in Upper Hutt a week ago.

The man charged with Mr Skudder's murder, Sean Brown, was back in Lower Hutt District Court Thursday and was remanded in custody to reappear next month.

Investigating officers say the post-mortem is finished, but it is now up to the coroner to release anything to do with the cause of death.

Police say the body will be returned to the family after DNA identification is made later on Friday or early next week.
