Emergency services on Auckland's North Shore have rescued two teenagers after initial reports they were trapped in a cave with a rising tide.
A Northern Fire Service communications spokesperson says the girls, aged 13, were rescued just after 3pm on Friday.
The spokesperson says initial reports were that the girls were trapped in a cave in Little Shoal Bay with possible injuries in water with a rising tide.
However, it later turned out the girls were stuck on a ledge and at high tide they were in ankle-deep water. Neither was injured.
