Centre-left opens super-city nominations

12:16 pm on 11 April 2010

The centre-left political group contesting Auckland's local body elections has opened nominations for super-city candidates.

City Vision chairman Robert Gallagher says it's seeking nominations for the council and local boards in the Albert-Eden-Roskill ward, for the council in the Waitemata and Gulf ward, and for the Waitemata local board and the Auckland District Health Board.

The group will contest the six seats on the new 20-seat council that falls within the current Auckland City boundaries.

Mr Gallagher says nominations will close in a month. He says the election is important for all Aucklanders who want to ensure their communities are heard.
