A male pedestrian was killed in a suspected hit-and-run in the Bay of Plenty on Saturday evening
Emergency services were alerted to the crash, which happened on State Highway 33, two kilometres north of Paengaroa, at about 7pm.
The man died at the scene.
Police say reports indicate that the driver involved did not stop. They say that they have found the vehicle they believe was involved and that its driver is helping with their investigations.
