A woman is due to appear in the Auckland District Court after a man died in the suburb of Mt Roskill on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old has been charged with assault.
Tom Joe Rihia, 56, died in Auckland hospital. Police are treating the investigation as a homicide inquiry.
Police and forensic experts are to examine the May Road property on Wednesday. A post-mortem will also be carried out.
