A pilot is in hospital with spine and leg injuries after a plane crash in Hawke's Bay on Tuesday.
The 52-year-old Napier man had just taken off in his topdresing plane from a farm about 16 kilometres southeast of Waipukurau.
He is in hospital in Hastings.
Police are investigating the crash.
