Police in Dunedin have arrested eight people they say are Mongrel Mob members or associates.
The arrests on Wednesday follow a six-month investigation into organised crime in the South Island city.
Six women and one man were arrested in Dunedin, and another man in Gisborne.
They face cannabis possession, sale and supply charges, and are also accused of participating in an organised criminal enterprise.
Police say the Mongrel Mob has a history of distributing illegal drugs in Dunedin, and violence and intimidation often occurs alongside.
