Shooters warned about high river levels

1:05 pm on 30 April 2010

Canterbury Regional Council is warning duck shooters heading into the back country for the start of the season on Saturday, about high river levels.

The council says rivers will remain higher than usual during the weekend because of heavy rain in the main divide.

It says channels within the riverbeds may have changed in the last few days, and hunters should take extreme care approaching them.
