Search teams have been unsuccessful in their hunt for a missing Christchurch woman who may have abandoned her car after crashing it.

Police say Emma Campbell, 29, crashed her car on Dyers Pass Road between 5.30am and 7.30am on Saturday.

The silver-blue Toyota Corona was found off the edge of the road, roughly halfway between the Sugarloaf transmitter and Victoria Park entrance, on the city side of the Port Hills.

A search and rescue team covered part of the Dyers Pass Road area on Sunday but did not find Ms Campbell.

They want to hear from cyclists or walkers who were in the area on Saturday morning and who may have seen her.
