Help was close at hand for a man who crashed his car outside the Wellington police station early on Tuesday.
Police say the man was driving the wrong way up Victoria St, a one-way street, when he collided with a parked car at about 3.30am.
He had to be extricated by officers after the car's airbag deployed and is now recovering in Wellington Hospital.
Police say he may face charges.
