Police on the West Coast have found a body they think may be that of a missing French-Canadian tramper.
A search and rescue team has been scouring the Copland Pass, south of Fox Glacier, for the 40-year-old man, Sorem Kvist, who has not been seen for a week.
Members of the team found the body of a male halfway between Douglas Rock Hut and the pass on Tuesday afternoon.
The body has been taken to the Hokitika Mortuary and is yet to be formally identified.
