Health Minister Tony Ryall has opened a new cancer treatment facility at Wellington hospital.
The Government provided $1 million towards the $2.5 million brachytherapy bunker, which will treat prostate and gynaecological cancers.
Mr Ryall said the Government has a target of bringing waiting times for cancer treatment down to four weeks.
