Three men are in Nelson hospital after a forestry accident in the Valley Road Area.
Emergency services including fire, police and ambulance were alerted to the accident just after 7.30am on Tuesday.
One of the men is seriously injured and the other two have moderate injuries.
Helicopter paramedic Jon Leach says a big log rolled on to the men as they were walking down a steep hill. They were unable to get out of the way.
The Department of Labour is investigating.
